Inventory & expiry
Stock tracking is entirely optional — a store that doesn't track inventory sees no stock UI anywhere. For stores that do, per-variant stock, backorders and low-stock alerts are enforced consistently across the website, app and till.
A customer shouldn't be able to order something that just sold out in-store, and short-dated stock shouldn't get discovered on the shelf after it's already unsellable.
